BILINGUAL ACTIVITIES
All activities can be conducted in English and Spanish.
The municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, recognized for its cultural, historical, and natural richness, takes a step towards an innovative future with the launch of "Positive Tourism Routes," an innovative program for the Department of Tourism that promotes regenerative tourism. This initiative is part of the need to foster a sustainable tourism model that not only minimizes environmental impact but also actively contributes to the regeneration of ecosystems, the revitalization of local communities, and the preservation of cultural heritage. Regenerative tourism goes beyond sustainability, proposing a positive interaction between visitors and the environment, where the trip not only respects resources but enriches them. Through these routes, participants will be able to discover unique landscapes, connect with nature, and take part in actions that promote biodiversity, community well-being, and responsible development. "Positive Tourism Routes" seeks to involve the community and visitors in a transformative experience, where every step contributes to the restoration of our valuable natural resources and the promotion of tourism that takes care of our territory for future generations. This project is part of the Tourism Strategy of the Department of Tourism of La Laguna and the main international responsible tourism strategies.
Within our guided activities, we promote knowledge of the natural, social, and cultural resources of our islands, as we believe that understanding the importance and ecological value of our environment is the greatest guarantee for its conservation.
We organize participatory activities that contribute to fostering human relationships, and the revitalization and association among the different agents of our community.
We favor the development of an alternative, social, and sustainable leisure model, ensuring full respect for nature and the cultural values of the local population. An accessible model for the population of the Islands that allows for expanding leisure and tourism alternatives in the territory.
We have a great capacity for invention and always put the utmost attention and care into our products. We also have a great passion for what we do. We enjoy it and want to share it with others.
Discovering and valuing the cultural and natural heritage of the municipality will be the greatest guarantee for its conservation. In the program, led by a Bachelor of Environmental Sciences and Official Tourism Guide, we will understand the identity marks of the municipality and its attractiveness at a global tourism level.
The routes are designed to support the development of the local economy, connecting visitors with producers, artisans, and small sustainable businesses. In this way, local products are promoted, contributing to economic growth and reinforcing the cultural identity of the area.
An active interaction between visitors and the local community will be promoted, fostering social cohesion. Through collaborative activities, tourists and residents will work together to improve the environment and share knowledge, creating an enriching and beneficial bond for both parties.
The routes will include beach clean-up activities and invasive species control. Participants will help remove waste from coastlines and exotic species that threaten biodiversity. These regenerative actions will allow for the restoration of ecological balance and raise awareness about the importance of caring for the natural environment.
Specialized guides will accompany the routes, providing environmental education on local ecosystems and challenges. This awareness will generate greater consciousness in visitors, promoting more responsible tourism committed to the preservation of the natural environment.
The routes offer the opportunity to reconnect with nature, combining physical and mental well-being with environmental regeneration. Participants will enjoy natural beauty while actively contributing to its conservation, reinforcing the balance between personal enjoyment, their mental health, and environmental responsibility.
