The project takes advantage of the benefits offered by non-formal education and collaborative learning techniques to experience, implement and develop outdoor education activities to be applied in the education of young people.

We will experiment language learning techniques, treasure hunts, heritage interpretation games, volunteering and environmental leisure activities to teach the importance of local heritage, and activities that raise awareness about the fragility and protection of the environment.

Nature is something all culture and countries share. We analize cultural integration using nature as a connecting element. The topic of the outdoor education will be related to cultural and natural heritage and social inclusion.

The training will be developed mainly outside in the natural landscape of the island of Tenerife. For the indoor activities we will use the conference room of the Youth Hostel in Guia de Isora.

We will be based at Youth Hostel at Guía de Isora, a small village in the countryside of Tenerife, with all services, and very well located to move to the coast or the mountains. We will stay in double or triple rooms; the hostel includes a kitchen, an activity room and a dining room. The hostel is equipped with internet connection.

We will provide bed linen, pillow and blanckets, but remember to bring your own towels.

As it is a youth center, it is strictly not allowed to drink alcohol, or smoke at any place of the hostel area.

We have chosen this place because of the active youth policity of the city, and because of its strategic location, which will allow us to discover the beautiful corners of Tenerife. The surrounding area is popular for hiking, visiting local beaches. We would love you to have a great time during the training as well as during your free time. We hope you will learn a lot, get to know local culture and make new friends. As someone once said «The place does not matter, what really matters is people and the unique experiences they share with each other».

Check out this video if you want to know more about the hostel:

The food provided will be vegetarian with vegan option if necessary. We will have a cook specialized in vegetarian/vegan cousine.
