GENIE: A Journey into Gamification, Nature, and Youth Empowerment<\/strong>
Our experience as Asociaci\u00f3n Desaplat\u00e1nate in Italy, June 2025<\/em><\/p>\n

This past June, we from Desaplat\u00e1nate<\/strong> had the chance to participate in GENIE \u2013 Gamified Education for Nature, Inclusion and Environment<\/strong>, a truly enriching Erasmus+ training held in Roccaromana (Naples), Italy<\/strong>. It was an inspiring international gathering that gave us the chance to grow as youth workers, educators, and environmental advocates \u2014 all through the power of games.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf0d Why GENIE Matters<\/strong>
Environmental degradation is one of the biggest challenges of our time. But raising awareness about it \u2014 especially among young people \u2014 isn\u2019t always easy. That\u2019s where gamification<\/strong> comes in: by using game mechanics in education, we can boost motivation, participation, and connection with nature in a fun, meaningful way.<\/p>\n

The GENIE project brought together participants from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria, and Greece<\/strong>, each one contributing their own perspective on youth work and environmental education.
